Fred Smilek is a founder, member and partner of Cani Financial Advisors, LLC as well as the co-founder and CEO of ReconTrader Corp. Mr. Smilek began his programming career as a junior systems programmer on Wall Street in 1982. Throughout his tenure, he received numerous promotions and commendations for his mastery in programming, database design and network architecture. By 1989, Mr. Smilek began his tenure with Citibank for short and medium term notes. In 1988, Mr. Smilek was hand picked by the Chief Information Officer to be the project director in the development of a national client database facilitating financial applications for emerging technologies. These applications included equity transfers, medium-term notes, commercial paper and mortgage-backed securities. In 1997, Mr. Smilek opened a satellite office of Cyber Corp (subsidiary of Charles Schwab), in the heart of the Wall Street financial district. It was through the educational services he provided his clients that Mr. Smilek developed the concept of creating online trading decision support tools. In 1999, he converted Cyber Corp to a branch of All Tech Direct, a day trading facility for individuals to make personal trades. He purchased 2 additional locations in Garden City, NJ and Boca Raton, FL. Through these offices, Mr. Smilek determined the needs of day traders and self-directed investors. In 2000, Mr. Smilek co-founded ReconTrader Corp with Mr. Scott Raybin Mr. Smilek adds value to all of the companies that he is associated with by having over 25 years of trading, technical analysis and computer programming experience. His familiarity of automated trading algorithms has been significant in the development of the Fund and its trading strategies.
